Northwest Friends Church is tucked away in a quiet residential neighborhood in Arvada, Colorado. We aren’t located next to a busy freeway or in a shopping mall or a vacated Safeway store. Our meeting facility is in the
heart of a neighborhood. It’s a neighborhood of families who are just like us. In fact, many of the people who attend NFC live within walking distance of our gathering place. Consequently, we love our neighborhood!
Like other families, the members of our church family depend on one another. We support each other in times of difficulty, praise one another in times of success, and celebrate with one another whenever we get the chance. We are family.
One other thing—the most important thing: There is a special member of our family who attends every activity; His name is Jesus Christ. He is the head of the Northwest family, the heart of our fellowship, and the example we attempt to follow.
So when we welcome you to our church family, we are doing so in His name, under His authority. Come enjoy Him with us!

NFC Mortgage Retirement

NFC Family: I’ve attended some boring Monthly Meetings over the years, but our most recent meeting was not one of them. I can honestly say that our last Monthly Meeting was one of my all-time-favorites. Here’s what happened: It began like most Monthly Meetings begin. There was opening prayer, reading of the minutes, committee reports, discussions, approvals; it was the same old same old. I must add that I like business meetings. I like to do God’s business God’s way. Business meetings that allow God to do what God does are always pleasant experiences. NFC’s Monthly Meetings are usually pleasant experiences; there have been a downer or two, but they aren’t the norm. This Monthly Meeting became extremely exciting when it came time for the Treasurer’s Report. As usual, all the bills are paid and money is in the bank. But John Brawner, the Chairman of our Finance Committee, shared...

At the conclusion of our vacation in late July, I discovered that the Kansas dryness matched my spiritual dryness. While on vacation, I was taken out of my spiritual habit of prayer and Bible reading. It’s difficult to maintain a predictable schedule with grandchildren around. On Thursday morning, my first day back to a regular routine, I sat in my familiar chair, cup of coffee in one hand, my Bible in the other. Expecting to pick up where I left off two weeks prior, I began to read Psalm 19: “The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork…” Although the warmth of God’s presence began to return as I finished the Psalm, I still wasn’t responding to Him as I anticipated. I was in a spiritual dry spell. That afternoon I went to a local greenhouse to purchase a couple of hanging plant arrangements for...

*Northwest Friends Church has been formed as a fellowship of believers in the Lordship of Jesus Christ. *Our supreme desire is to know Jesus and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. *Although we are a denominational church, we do believe that an overemphasis of doctrinal differences has led to divisions within the Body of Christ. *We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is God's love, which is greater than any differences we possess and without which we have no right to claim the name of Christian. *We believe the worship of our God should be spiritual; therefore, we remain flexible and yielded to the leading of the Holy Spirit to direct our worship services. *We believe the worship of our God should be inspirational; therefore, we give great place and emphasis to music in the worship service. *We believe the worship...
